Welcome to Active Paws Behaviour and Training Centre
We have a wonderful Centre which we have created to make training enjoyable, relaxing and fun for you and your dog.
Our staff are hugely knowledgeable and are constantly furthering their knowledge and keeping up with new research by attending courses and seminars throughout the year. You can read more about the team on our Meet The Team page.
We run classes for dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds and backgrounds – puppies from 1st vaccination, rehomed dogs, adolescent dogs and older dogs. Your dog is never too old to learn (despite that old adage which, in fact, was referring to an old sea dog and not our furry friend!!!).
Our classes cover the key skills we need our dogs to have to ensure we can happily co-exist and have them as part of the family BUT we don’t stop there! We also offer classes that appeal to those of you that want to challenge your training skills with more specialised subjects like Scent work and Rally.
Ainsley is our senior behaviourist. She is a Certified COAPE Animal Behaviourist, (RQF Level 6) & Trainer and deals with dogs from all backgrounds with all sorts of behaviours. This includes dogs that bark and lunge at other dogs and/or people, dogs that are severely noise sensitive, dogs that struggle to be left on their own in the home, dogs that growl if you try to take toys away from them. These are just some of the behaviours that you might be experiencing where she can help.
We also work closely with a physiotherapist and a canine massage therapist. This is important for dogs struggling with problem behaviours as pain is an often-overlooked cause of behaviour problems. Ainsley can work with you and ensure that this is considered and reviewed by your vet and then referred on to whoever is appropriate for your dog.
We stock a range of tried and tested products we are happy to recommend. Our team ensure you get the most appropriate product to help with your situation. We are stockists for specific products.
We fit harnesses by appointment to ensure that you get the best fit and style and then ensure you can use the equipment effectively and therefore successfully.
